BLOOD BANKS
For coordination and regulation of blood transfusion services in Anambra State, ASHEFAMU part of mandate will be to accredit and regulate both public and private blood banks, to ensure safety of blood.
It is therefore mandatory for any blood bank that wishes to operate in Anambra State, to register and get accredited with ASHEFAMU.
To this end every registered blood bank must screen every unit of blood collected at any of the screening centres established by the Anambra State Government. “It will be an offence to transfuse blood without Anambra State Logo”
